About Me
-
People say I'm:I'm leaving Gather...but you can find me at www.explorehistoricalif.com. From the amount of comments and views I've gotten here...I can see this is not my niche. I will be concentrating on other venues for my writing. If you want to get in touch you can reach me at cecile@explorehistoricalif.com or ccvargo@yahoo.com The time I spent on here I could have been working on my book instead and really accomplishing something. I do appreciate the friends I have made here, however.

Describe Yourself:I'm a retired YMCA receptionist, now a housewife, who also happens to run historical 4 wheel drive tours 6 to 8 times throughout the year. My love of the places we go and the great history of each of them, has turned into a passion. I run a website http://www.explorehistoricalif.com, which in addition to advertising our tours, is an online magazine with histories of the places we go to. I also run a daily blog at http://xplorhistcal.livejournal.com called Traveling Through The Backroads of My Mind, where I write about my personal life, and mull over ideas for the website. I spend my days researching and writing and talking to people on various message boards about the places in the California desert and mountains that I love to go to.
Making my little 1939 country cottage here in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains cozy and comfortable is another passion of mine, as well as gardening, and taking care of a plethora of animals which include 2 dogs, 3 cats, & 5 birds. My pride and joy is my half rott/lab Maggie Moore Ho Dog, named after one of the red light at Cerro Gordo Ghost Town.
Cerro Gordo is my biggest passion and truly a part of my destiny. I am fortunate enough to be a very part time resident of this old silver mining town. You will be hearing about it often ;-) -
On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:A place to fulfill my passion to write and share it with others.... Looks like I didn't find it as much as I would have liked to...so I'm out of here....
